Stichting ColorC invites makers from Groningen and surrounding areas to submit their sketches for new lightwork (light installations or ambient lighting objects) for OrbitFest between 1st January and 1st March. For this you can sign up by filling in the online form below. Consequently, these project proposals will possibly be included in the preparatory process leading to OrbitFest at the end of December. All entrants will be contacted.

Explanatory notes:

⊙ To what extent and to what degree is the proposed work sensorial? Which senses does the work stimulate and how do they relate to each other? Sensorial stimulation refers to stimulating visitors’ senses by use of artificial media (visual, text, sound and movement) and/or new media (body, food).
The various media can be used in combination (multimedial), in a series of separate selected (multi­)media (transmedial) or referring to each other (intermedial).

⊙ To what extent and to what degree is the proposed work innovative?
Innovativeness refers to the merging (see magic realism) of a novum (a fantastic what if-situation) with the Zeitgeist (what is happening with the present reality?).

⊙ To what extent to what degree is the proposed work sustainable?
Sustainability refers to the balance between stability and biodegradability and the balance between reusability and renewability of the processes and means utilised.

⊙ To what extent and to what degree is the proposed work empowering?
How does the work involve the visitor and what is in it for him/her? Empowerment refers to the opportunity to apply newly gained knowledge.

⊙ To what extent and to what degree is the work connected to OrbitFest’s annual festival theme?

⊙ To what extent and to what degree is the work consistent with with the world and characters in OrbitFest’s festival story?
